Salem School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was created many years before Salem ever became famous for witch trials. Besides being the only wizarding school in the United States, Salem was famous for it's beyond amazing curriculum and teachers.
It continued being one of the top wizarding schools among schools like Beauxbatons and Hogwarts until 1996 when it was closed because of a raiding that destoyed the school. The American Ministry of Magic repaired the school but nobody was willing to return until Rose Sullivan and Leah Jefferson, both graduates of 1995 returned to run it.
Rose and Leah were best friends since their first year at Salem and were distraught to find their beloved school in ruins.
Now that they have the school running, they're recruiting students from everywhere in america and other countries to come and join the school. Their wish is to return SSWW to it's former glory.
